Why regional analysis matters
The same greenhouse can perform very differently across one country.
National food demand may justify further investigation, but project feasibility is local. Coastal humidity, desert heat, high-altitude nights, dust, wind and seasonal cloud can change the required structure and climate strategy within a few hundred kilometres.
Water is evaluated through source security and laboratory quality, not national scarcity statistics alone. Market access is evaluated through buyers, product specifications, transport time, cooling and payment behaviour. Energy is evaluated through connection capacity, reliability, fuel options and operating cost.
Local operating capability is equally important. A project needs growers, irrigation operators, technicians, supervisors and commercial management. Where these skills are limited, training and phased expansion belong in the investment plan.
DutchAgriTech therefore treats countries as opportunity areas rather than standard packages. Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Kenya and Pakistan may all need reliable food production, but each project still requires its own crop, climate, water, market and risk case.
